Sizing up Baby's 1st Christmas

The holiday shopping season is in full swing, and this Grammy got an early start. I hit the stores even before Black Friday hit us. (And I skipped the crowds that day!)

Like any enthusiastic grandparent with an adorable grandbaby, I was immediately drawn to a display of “My 1st Christmas” pajamas and other festive outfits. I began clicking through the tiny plastic hangers, looking for just the right size.

 What a disappointment.

To my dismay, all they had were the 24-month size – in their entire collection of “My 1st Christmas” apparel.

That struck me as funny. Just how big are those babies?

Ohio kid channels Toy Story pals, clawing into claw machine

Somebody better call Buzz and Woody, stat.

A little boy apparently crawled through the prize door of an arcade-style claw machine in Mason, Ohio, right after lunchtime on July 7. His adventure was captured by surveillance footage and subsequently posted online.

Not sure where his accompanying adult/s were at this point.

The claw machine was situated in a hallway, but pushed into a nearby store after a man in a volunteer tee shirt spotted the lad’s legs sticking out of the prize chute.

Police and EMS personnel were called to the scene and rescued the boy by dismantling the back of the claw machine.

The incident, reported by ABC Chicago, Scripps News, UPI, and other news outlets, occurred at the Mason Community Center in Warren County, about 22 miles north of Cincinnati.

At least he got to keep the stuffed animal toy, which he handed to his mother after coming out of the machine.

Guess that’s one way to claw your way to the top.
