Ta-rrring!
I totally don't get it. I've installed those tricky spam-call-blockers on all our home phone jacks. But the telephone still rings in the evening, at least a few times each week.
It's totally telling, because no one else ever calls our land line.
OK, Mom does.
But everyone else who knows us automatically dials our cell phones first.
To boot, our cable provider has this handy tool, which puts caller ID names and numbers on the TV screen. And our phones have caller ID features too. So we are pretty clued-in when unidentified callers try to interrupt our family evenings at home.
Generally, we simply ignore these cold calls. Sometimes I feel sort of sorry for telemarketing employees. These folks have to dial countless numbers, only to be received with anything but enthusiasm.
But, occasionally, I have to fight the urge to pick up the phone and offer a comeback, like this one. Maybe I won't, but I heard someone say this. And it seemed sort of fitting.
Seriously, does anyone ever donate, enroll, purchase, or vote the way a random telemarketer suggests?
