Go figure. The world is filled with pricey knockoffs, costly counterfeits, and fancy fakes. And we buy into it.

We wear clothing that unravels, leather that melts in water, and gems that crack and sprinkle dust all over us. And don't get us started on plastic pearls.

The world may be our oyster, but we're buying right into someone's shell game.

What’s an oxymoron?

Basically, an oxymoron is a phrase that seems contradictory or incongruous. Taken literally, the words do not make sense. Often, oxymorons find their way into popular usage, becoming cultural catchwords or frequently used idioms.

Many of these curious wordings strike us as delightfully amiss. Besides, what sort of whimsical word is “oxymoron”?
