25 Cringe-Worthy Christmas Songs: #17

Dozens of artists have covered this Cringe-Worthy Christmas song, first recorded by Johnny Moore’s Three Blazers in the late 1940s.

Here are a few later attempters of Merry Christmas Baby: B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt and Charles Brown, Booker T and the MGs, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Cee-lo Green and Rod Stewart, Christina Aguilera, Chuck Berry, Colbie Caillat and Brad Paisley, Donna Loren, Elvis Presley, Etta James, Hanson, Jessica Simpson and Willie Nelson, Kenny Burrell, Mae West, Melissa Etheridge, and Otis Redding.

Still, we gotta wonder. Why?

And here’s the version that really makes us cringe. (Maybe it’s my shellfish allergy kicking in, but I can’t stand this one.)
