F is for “Fast Food” - Oxymorons from A to Z

Fast food is oxymoronic indeed. Is it fast, or is it food?

Don’t answer that.

I gave in yesterday, after a long season of no-fast-food willpower, and tried one of those new fast food sandwich wraps.

And I beg To differ with either answer. It's not all that fast, and it sure doesn't feel like food. At least, not the morning after

Maybe I'll fast from food altogether today, just to recover from yesterday's fast food.

What’s an oxymoron?

Basically, an oxymoron is a phrase that seems contradictory or incongruous. Taken literally, the words do not make sense. Often, oxymorons find their way into popular usage, becoming cultural catchwords or frequently used idioms.

Many of these curious wordings strike us as delightfully amiss. Besides, what sort of whimsical word is “oxymoron”?

  2. We rarely do fast food too. Always seems like a waste of money.
